Service Description

sta(y)ble. is a seasonal, community-oriented practice rooted in yoga and Ayurveda, an ancient system of health and self-study that explores how the body and mind respond to rhythm, environment, routine, and change (doshas). Each season centers one dosha and the conditions that tend to shape our energy throughout that time of year: Vata | winter | January–March Kapha | spring | April–June Pitta | summer–early fall | July–October The practice changes seasonally, with movement, breathwork, pacing, and rest shaped around the dominant qualities of that season. Winter practices emphasize steadiness, warmth, and grounding. Spring practices emphasize clarity, movement, and circulation. Summer practices emphasize cooling, spaciousness, and sustainable effort. The sequence remains familiar enough to build body awareness over time, while shifting enough to respond to the season, the room, and the lived experience students bring with them. Expect accessible movement, grounding breath practices, intentional pauses, and generous time for rest. This class is welcoming to newer students and supportive for those with an ongoing practice. Options, modifications, mats, and props are offered throughout to reflect a wide range of bodies and needs. Students may attend one season independently or move through the full yearly cycle. The practice is facilitated by Andy Bachman (they/them), a 500-hour yoga teacher and Ayurvedic Health Counselor trained through the Kripalu Schools of Yoga and Ayurveda. Andy brings together yoga, Ayurveda, restorative practices, accessibility, and social context, with attention to nervous system health, lived experience, and the realities of modern life. There will be no music during class. Optional individual support may be offered as capacity allows and is always consent-based, with the opportunity to opt out prior to class beginning. No hands-on support is ever given without permission.
