Service Description
this 3-week drop-in introductory Tai Chi class is designed to help students build familiarity with foundational movements, balance, posture, and flow before committing to the full 108-move Yang Style Tai Chi sequence. each class will focus on introductory concepts and foundational forms that prepare the body and mind for the longer 4-month course beginning August 16th. Tai Chi is a fully standing practice that emphasizes slow, intentional movement, quiet focus, coordination, and presence. students can expect gentle repetition, guided instruction, and opportunities to explore how movement, breath, and attention work together. individual support is an important part of the learning process, and George offers verbal guidance, demonstration, and occasional hands-on support to help students better understand positioning, transitions, and movement patterns. this series is intentionally small and limited to 12 participants to allow space for questions, individualized guidance, and a slower learning pace. whether you are completely new to Tai Chi or simply curious about the practice, this series is a chance to explore whether the longer-form study feels like a good fit for you. the full 4-month donation-based Tai Chi series begins August 16th and will take place Sundays at noon both in studio and outdoors at Kindleberger Park in Parchment (weather permitting). bio George de Alth has been practicing Tai Chi for over twenty years and was certified by the Taoist Tai Chi Society to instruct both beginning and continuing level classes. he continues to attend Tai Chi and Qigong workshops as part of his ongoing growth as both a practitioner and instructor.
